Report: Saddam Hussein Saw al-Qaida As Threat
The Senate Intelligence Committee released a report today that disclosed a pre-war CIA assessment that Saddam “did not have a relationship, harbor, or turn a blind eye toward Zarqawi and his associates.”
The Bush adminsitration for years has maintained a link between al-Qaida and Saddam Hussein and have paralleled them when referring to “The War on Terror”. Another part of the same report concluded that information obtained from the Iraqi National Congress, which was used to support the intelligence assessments in Iraq, were false.
The Democrats have criticized the President and the Cabinet for deliberately misleading the public about the supposed link and using faulty intelligence to justify the war in Iraq and America’s continued involvement there.
