Israel to Stop Fighting Monday Morning: Red Light!
The Associated Press reports that an Israeli official has confirmed 7am as the agreed-upon time to stop fighting as part of the official cease-fire agreement. Fighting still continues throughout this weekend as the latest reports of killing keep pouring in – last one confirming the death of 17 Israeli soldiers.
This “not yet” is a bit of a strage concept in the intense skirmish between Hizbollah and the Israeli Army. I’m not quite so sure the cease-fire will really hold up – this seems like an insane game of “red light green light” where the game ends at some arbitrary time. Do the bullets stop midair at exactly 7am. What about the soldier who gets shot at 6:59am? War and hate are such horridly surreal concepts.
