Many of Sunrockets VOIP service’s 200,000 subscribers found out about Sunrocket’s demise the hard way – their phone service just stopped working – with no advance warning. The company went out of business and left every single customer stranded.

Packet8 was selected as the default provider through a deal with Sunrocket. However, many subscribers were wary of signing up with another company they had not heard about, especially since they are presumably taking a financial loss by taking over Sunrocket’s old customer base.

So now what?

If you are a Sunrocket customer who’s been affected, you have some options. Two good alternatives to check out are Verizon FIOS bundled service (best deal if available in your area) or VOIP.com who are currently offering a Free Month Trial.

The Bush adminsitration for years has maintained a link between al-Qaida and Saddam Hussein and have paralleled them when referring to “The War on Terror”. Another part of the same report concluded that information obtained from the Iraqi National Congress, which was used to support the intelligence assessments in Iraq, were false.

The Democrats have criticized the President and the Cabinet for deliberately misleading the public about the supposed link and using faulty intelligence to justify the war in Iraq and America’s continued involvement there.

To justify the existence of the secret prisons, Bush was quoted as saying:

The claim that thousands of prisoners have been held was rebuked by a senior administration official – they only number in the hundreds – the people who are apparently not protected under the Geneva conventions, have never been given a fair trial, or are in any other way given the rights that any other civilized nation would extend to even the most hated of criminals.

Many European nations applauded this news. The United States has been notoriously slow in adopting emissions standards. One of the biggest drawbacks will be that people will not be able to burn CD’s or download the music to their iPod, which accounts for 70% of the portable mp3 market.

Me? Until they come out with something that doesn’t include DRM, or is overly restictive, I’m going to stick with CD’s – no restrictions, can be downloaded to your iPod, and have much better music quality. Plus there’s good ways to get CD’s at $5.99 apiece.

Looking at the figures, there is a direct correlation between poverty and obesity. Most experts agree that the problem is so pervasive throughout our society and culture, that its unlikely to improve unless some drastic steps are taken by both the government and individuals themselves.

Florida governor Jeb Bush ordered the Keys to evacuate in anticipation of the storm and said that officials are planning for a Category 2 hurricane. The space shuttle launch was scrubbed.

The Cuban government took serious precautions for the storm to minimize damage and casualties on the island – arguably a much better job of preparedness than FEMA’s last year’s efforts in the states. Today is the one year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.
