Steve Irwin “The Crocodile Hunter” Fatally Wounded by Stingray
Steve Irwin, or “The Crocodile Hunter” as he was more commonly known, died while shooting a wildlife video at the Great Barrier Reef Monday morning. Tragically, a stingray pierced his heart with a serrated venomous tail barb while he was swimming. The video shows Irwin pulling the barb out of his chest before he loses consciousness.
Irwin was known to wrestle crocodiles and handle venomous snakes, but this news came as a great surprise to millions who are now mourning a wonderful personality and a heroic wildlife conservationist. Over the years, Irwin fought for animal conservationism and put his own life at risk to educate others about numerous wildlife issues. He is survived by his wife Terri, daughter Bindi (8) and son Robert (2).
Please help support the legacy of Irwin by donating to Wildlife Warriors. Crikey, Steve, we’ll all miss you.

The planet lost a great man. Steve will be sorely missed. My thoughts are with his wife and children. Keep his passion alive – support wildlife and conservation.
